Lose Broadband Connection Evertime I Reboot PC

Yep, unfortunately, sometimes, windows update installs the wrong ethernet host controller for your motherboard. This one is straight from ASUS, latest driver for your board so atleast we know once that's installed that's one inconsistency stomped out. If it still doesnt autoconnect, im pretty sure there's something incorrectly auto-configured in your ethernet adapter settings > properties.

How do I access the ethernet adapter settings I can post a screenshot

Right click on Local Area Connection, when youre in "change adapter settings" screenshot every tab.

Also, head into device manager --> network adapters --> print screen that.

You can try unticking "allow this computer to switch this device off to save power" Not sure itll do much though

What happens when you click connect, under, network and sharing center, in one of your earlier screenshots where it says you are not connected?

This is very hard to solve without remote access ^^ May have to phone up tech support on 0844 499 4000 on Monday and theyll try sort it, with a remote access too if needed.

I unticked that box Sleinous and made it worse and wouldn't connect at all so i've had to tick the box again to get a connection but i did get a screenshot of when i'm not connected.

Looks like i'll have to ring tech support later in the week as I don't get home from work til after 5.30pm and the support lines are closed then :(

BTW what is teamviewer?

Teamviewer allows someone like me to access ur comp externally through a temp id and pass in a client. When session ends, ur teamviewer closes if u chose to just run it and not install it

Having looked at screenshot this could also be your router, will think about this

Thanks ^^ Squirrel, what's the make and model of the router? Have you tried going into is (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.254 in web browser) and deleteing the computer form the list of connected devices, switching off, back on, and seeing if router gives you a new IP on the network?

What do you mean by router do you mean the cable modem?

The cable modem is a Cisco 2100 cable modem

I've tried putting both those addresses in my web browser and neither of them work sleinous
