So it sounds like for now a GPU upgrade would do me another few years maybe?
Great if so, I can see that the 5070ti is available from PCSpecialist for roughly similar price I'm seeing elsewhere so I'll think it over a few days and if nothing else jumps out at me I'll probably go for that.
Cheers!
Hi all. I've been working with the last build I got from PC Specialist back in 2021, but it's coming to the point where I'm probably looking at upgrading a bit. I'm a bit lost on what to upgrade though; or indeed, whether upgrading my current build is even worth it and I should just bite the...
Cheers, thanks for the quick feedback! If the difference between the 4050 and 4060 is as substantial as you say, then I'll definitely consider putting in the extra few hundred for it. The white also does look a bit nicer than the black!
Thanks also for the warning about the Intel laptops, I'll...
Hey everyone, just posting here to get some feedback on a laptop I'm thinking of getting.
I ordered a desktop from here a good few years ago and it's still going strong, very pleased with it, but I find I'm traveling around for work a lot these days, so I kind of want something to play while...
Actually, even the Wifi issue is due to my own carelessness, didn't realise I needed to put in the Wifi antennae myself! Downloaded speed jumped from barely 1MB/s to 20MB/s! It may not seem much to some people but compared to what I'm used to it seems like the speed of God himself!
I'm looking for a new desk myself, the one I'm using is very, very old, but I managed to find a used Herman Miller Mirra for for around 350 quid and I can't recommend it enough, it's very comfortable. Though, as a note, I've only been using it for about a month now.
I think I would rather just dump it into a river than do that again so soon, it would probably save time.
Other than that it seems to be working pretty good! Just downloading my backlog of games now, it'll be a relief to finally play stuff on a graphics setting higher than "low" and praying for...
Dropping in with some good news; my machine finally arrived! Got a call from PCS yesterday evening telling me it had cleared customs around noon yesterday and should arrive this morning, which it did. What's strange about that is that I had been talking to Fedex customer service just an hour...
I definitely didn't enter a VAT number anytime during the process, though PCS' one is on the invoice.
Still, finally got into contact with someone who seems to know what was happening (apparently Fedex' entire custom systems was down) who said it's in processing now, which means they just have...
I'm almost certain I did. Unsure how you would even go about ordering as a company? Still, is there some way I can check to be sure? Having this entire delay be due to my own stupidity would be pretty peak irony.
Called Fedex again today to see what the story was and if the EORI number provided by PCS would finally get things sorted. Had to call around 6 times cause they kept redirecting me and the line would get cut, finally got onto customs.
Fedex person: "Oh, you're a private individual, you...
So maybe some tentative good news? Got an email back from Jamie, the PCS customer service guy I was talking to on Saturday.
Which is the exact same number that @NoddyPilot sent onto me a few days ago and which I have already sent onto Fedex through email, so this time I've really got my fingers...
