Hi, I am thinking about ordering and all singing PC. I am happy with the spec but have a few questions that I hope you're kind enough to help out with.
Use is gaming, and a little bit of video encoding. But mostly gaming. Not interested in overclocking.
1. I am keen on the motherboard for the...
Whoop! In testing.
Here's what I am upgrading from... I think I may notice a difference.
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™ i7-2700k Quad Core (3.50GHz, 8MB Cache) + HD Graphics
Motherboard
ASUS® P8Z68-V/GEN3: PCI-E 3.0 READY, SLI, CROSSFIREX
Memory (RAM)
16GB SAMSUNG DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz (4 X 4GB)...
Phew! I got through to customer services. It may be of help to others to know:
I was told that for so long as a system is "in building" changes made on the configurator should pull through to the builder automatically.
(Sorry to the poor chap building mine!)
And, given that my last...
I called yesterday. Was told end of the month. I went amended my order to upgrade the SSDs. I then looked at my spec to check that had gone through and saw it was in building!
I actually missed the email as I was resigned to March before the build started.
Good news! My build (3090, 5900) has started after 42 days.
Bad news! I found out after I upgraded my SSD to the 2TB Samsungs in stock.
Is there any way this can be flagged urgently to the guys making my build (I have the name from my order but won't put it on the forum)
I am on hold to tell...
I spoke to customer services this morning. All recently delivered 5900x are allocated to builds. Hopefully larger deliveries are expected on 25th and 26th Feb. (Hopefully is doing some heavy lifting there). However, I guess that means that there will be little movement - maybe a few straggler...
Not bought anything? True.
But I have PAID for something. I (and others) have spent one, two, three thousand pounds or more and don't want to see components we've PAID for going to those who paid after us. That's the beef.
I am happy to wait for my PC. I have bought from PCS in the past. But...
This makes no sense to me, and would be wrong and unfair. If you paid for the component before someone else, it should not be given to the person who ordered it after you.
As I have said in another thread, it creates the risk that you have to wait until all your components are in - having paid...
Thanks for your replies
I saw that sticky. But it does not answer my query. My question is not what happens if components are freed up from another order. I get they move to the next order for that part.
My questions are:
1. Does PCS allocate parts to older orders that it cannot yet...
I'd be grateful if someone better informed than me could confirm the "pre-production" process when more than one component is on pre-order.
I have ordered a PC with a 3090 and 5900x. Both were on pre-order at the time. I understand the shortages. Since then, the 3090 has come into, and back out...
