I had changed the ram from A2/B2 to A1/B1 as I was getting the three beep error code yesterday.
I suspect that made the RAM unstable. It booted with 3100mHz (normal XMP) and I've just tried 3200mHz and that has worked now.
Part of me loves this troubleshooting, and the other is giving me so...
XMP DDR4-3200 16-18-18-36-1.35V
RAM sticks are in slots A1 and B2
I have always had XMP, has never been an issue before today. Even reseting bios/enabling default bios settings and then using XMP does not work
Update and good news, I had another look today and it seems that it was in fact the RAM that was the issue.
It wasn't seated in the 1st/3rd slot and was crashing the system. Not sure why it functioned fine for a year but seems like that was the reason behind the crash!
All running smooth now
Thanks for all the info, sounds like the best option. Unfortunate to send it from Ireland and to the UK and back. I miss my PC already :(
I'd like to thank everyone in this thread, no miracle fix unfortunately but you have all been amazingly helpful! :)
As someone who's never RMAd a product before, do you have a link or more info so that I can read up on the process? Is this something where I'd be one month without it
I was on the silver program which I think is just 1 year? The invoice was created in the 1st of November 2021. But not sure if it's linked to purchase date or ship date?
I reseated the Ram, gpu lights up and plugged the HDMI cable into the motherboard still nothing.
Just the 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps over and over
Hello,
My PC has been having issues today after no issues at all.
Specs:
Z-490P
Corsair 32Gb ram
GTX 1080
i7-10700K
850W corsair CPU
My PC turns on, fans spin up, GPU light turns on but display does not turn on at all.
Anyone have any tips or ideas?
I've tested the monitors and cables...
My PC arrived this Tuesday (02/16/2021) in the Republic of Ireland with FedEx so unless it's changed between then, they are still using FedEx for outside of the UK.
So what I realized was happening is that the ASUS motherboard was applying a turbo boost and creating higher temps. It's stable at around 45C in game though I may try and push for 5Ghz. Not sure yet
