PCSPECIALIST First major desktop purchase - everything look ok?

The reason I deviated from this was, I was getting one beep, straight into a post error screen. Continually til I managed to tweak the bios. One beep made no sense in the context of this, especially when followed by a forced boot into bios. I can only assume now the one beep is VGA detected as...

PCSPECIALIST Just set up Desktop from PCS, then attempted to upgrade RAM. Need some help.

Quite honestly it may have been dumb luck. There was a lot of resets and I think it may have just been standard first few boots type of thing. But the main thing I changed is, I set my bios settings to default. Then I manually set my ram speed, and enabled XMP2 in the overclock settings...

PCSPECIALIST Just set up Desktop from PCS, then attempted to upgrade RAM. Need some help.

I seem to have the ram issues sorted! Thanks for your help guys. Anyone any idea about this "Master Key"? To claim the Intel game?

PCSPECIALIST Just set up Desktop from PCS, then attempted to upgrade RAM. Need some help.

Thanks again for the help everyone, especially Spyder. I must say he was a big contributor to why I purchased from PCS. (Not just the direct help to me, but he is helping out in almost every single thread. I don't know if he gets any type of discount or support from you guys but he really...

PCSPECIALIST First major desktop purchase - everything look ok?

Amazing Thanks. Out of curiosity. When you initially suggested the Firecuda 530 for the (I'm assuming dedicated OS drive). Is 500 over kill? I'm thinking of partitioning it 300/200 (Not sure which way) and keeping the C drive purely for OS and nothing else. The remainder could then be the cache...

PCSPECIALIST First major desktop purchase - everything look ok?

The goalposts have moved due to some recent tweaks. It's hard to say if I have a hard budget in mind. I suppose for the right reasons ~£100+ couldn't hurt. What areas are you thinking?

PCSPECIALIST First major desktop purchase - everything look ok?

Would the onboard motherboard audio matter? If I am explicitly using external audio interfaces?

PCSPECIALIST First major desktop purchase - everything look ok?

Thanks so much for the all the help. Going to commit to the purchase today. I've made some other tweaks now due to kicking the +64gb down the road. Just comparing some slightly higher spec GPUs now.

PCSPECIALIST First major desktop purchase - everything look ok?

Well, I've made adjustments based on your expertise so far. And to be honest, its easy enough to upgrade RAM so I'll start out with the 64gb and upgrade in a few months if it feels necessary. (Getting by on the 32 was a huge burden btw, my mind set is really just future proofing as technology...

PCSPECIALIST First major desktop purchase - everything look ok?

I go between Reaper 64bit, and Ableton Live 11 as a DAW. Using a large variety of plug ins, too many to possibly list at the moment sorry. But primarily loaded through samplers such as Kontakt or Opus.

PCSPECIALIST First major desktop purchase - everything look ok?

I work with digital audio, and majority of that means my instruments are all loaded into ram. I have sessions with 100s of tracks in them, with some of those tracks using up to 1gb of ram each. I have been working around it with my current 32gb set up, but time is money so they say. And if I...

PCSPECIALIST First major desktop purchase - everything look ok?

You know what, this is definitely what ill do. Thanks! Can get 128gb DDR4 3600MHz for around £500. (The same cost difference as the 128gb DDR4 3000MHz in my current build). I suppose some questions, It is entirely fine to buy 2 x (2x32gb) packs instead of 1 x (4x32) pack? The latter seems to be...

PCSPECIALIST First major desktop purchase - everything look ok?

This is certainly something I'll consider more. Quite honestly I just saw an option for max and took it. The speed didn't seem too bad so I just assumed all was well. But I suppose it may not be the worst to go for 64gb faster ram then try and upgrade with same type. Just gotta see if there is a...

PCSPECIALIST First major desktop purchase - everything look ok?

Taken a lot of what you said into serious consideration, and done some more research on things. Pushed the budget slightly too, how does this look? (I work with massive digital orchestral scores, where all of the instruments get loaded into ram. So that's why I'm keen on maxing that out)...

PCSPECIALIST First major desktop purchase - everything look ok?

Noted, very insightful. I will absolutely go for the 750w RMx now as a minimum. Any other potential issues you see? So glad to have people looking over this with experience 😅. I'd have had no reason to suspect the PSU would be an issue. How does my GPU look in general? It's very hard to gauge...

What would you recommend? What likely future requirements do you foresee? I may eventually upgrade my GPU but I don't intend on any intense PC gaming. Thanks

This is what I see, whenever I even go to the next one up. Unless you mean light quality/price wise?

Is that going to be an issue? Whenever I selected something higher they kept saying "you don't need it. You only need around 220w" Something to that effect anyway.
