£1400~ Gaming/Streaming Build: Thoughts?

Been tooling around with some configurations after keeping up with new hardware releases for a while and threw this together.

- Moderate-to-heavy gaming; mostly older titles, no brand new titles at max settings
- Heavy streaming to Twitch at high settings
- Some video editing and HEAVY browser usage (20+ tabs)
- 1080p dual-monitors already being used, no plans to upgrade to 1440p or beyond
- I would like the system to be quiet, as it will be left on for long periods of time

I've been forced to go with the 750W PSU as the 850W Modular unit is out of stock, that's what I would like to opt for as it should be quieter.

Only thing I'm quite unsure about is the motherboard as I don't THINK I'll want to add extra bits and pieces later on, but I can't be certain. Thoughts?

Looks very good.

If going for quiet, then the Fractal Define S case, or the R6 (more expensive) if you want tempered glass.

Shame about the RMx PSU.

I would be tempted by the B350-Plus motherboard for USB 3.1 Gen 2, and extra expansion slots (plus extra slots for RAM if you consider you might need 32gb in the future for video editing?). Plus you can't OC on A320 iirc, so B350 would also leave that as an option should you find yourself wanting to squeeze a bit more out of the CPU down the line.

It's a review spec and so carries a built-in discount. I haven't priced it up manually, but it looks like decent value, being £1500 for an R7 2700x, X470 mobo, 16gb 3000MHz RAM, 256gb PM961, 2TB HDD, very nice case and cooler, etc. And a GTX 1080.

I have noticed that spec exists and I do like it quite a bit, I just figured at the same time that a 1080 is overkill for my uses, and it's unlikely that I'd ever get the real mileage out of it as I really don't play top-end titles. I'm not sure that the cooler would be as quiet as the Noctua, either?

The cooler wouldn't be as quiet as the Noctua though that would be true of almost any cooler given that Noctua's are among the quietest there are. That said, you can customise the fan profile on the H100i, and you could also swap the fans out on it.

As you say, the 1080 might not be best value. Normally I argue strongly against over-purchasing a GPU for 'futureproofing', but the large discount on the 1080 in the Magma Pro takes a lot of edge off that argument. Also it would have some merit in video editing if your software uses the GPU.

I can see this one both ways, but it's worth consideration I guess
