15.6 Octane III vs Defiance III - Build quality?

Re the Octane III and the Defiance III: (to be used for general purpose and some gaming)

- what materials are they made from - ie: all plastic or part plastic, part alloy?
- I previously has an earlier version Optimus V and after 2 years the keyboard is nearly dead - I want a decent quality keyboard
- Ventilation - how much fan activity is to the rear and how much is to the bottom - ie is it OK sat on a flat surface without a ventilated stand?
