Hi all,
In the market for an upgrade to my 2013 PCSpecialist PC that has unfortunately recently died. Original fault was that PC would power on for half a second and then turn off and then automatically restart and then fail (repeat process) unless you force power off the PC. Reseated RAM and CMOS battery and got it going. Did a bit of work and powered off and then tried the next day and got the same fault. Tried the previous fix but no joy. New 750W PSU installed and now happily turns on but no boot. Installed new DDR3 RAM (after trying the old sticks 1 in 1 out etc) and no change. 'CPU LED' is permanently red following power on. Tried another used CPU from CEX (£25) today to see if it was CPU at fault or something else but still nothing from power up so to me it is indicating motherboard problem.
With this being a 2013 PC it is almost at the point of just buying a new PC rather than throwing a few hundred pounds at some parts and still possibly having an issue. Here is the original spec from PCSpecialist:

So what do you think to going new rather than trying to fix the old PC? I have the 2 SSD's and 1 HDD to move over from the dead PC to the new PC just to add hence why there is no real storage on this new one. I download a lot of MP4 files (I run a YouTube channel) from Chrome and compile these MP4 files into a Compilation via Sony Vegas and then transfer via Network Drive to a newer and more capable PC of rendering said video to be uploaded. This new PC would not be used for gaming, overclocking, office work etc and simply for completing the same previous tasks of downloading and editing.
Happy
