beeping on startup

Hi all, I have been having this issues for a while, I've been in contact with PC specailists via email and have opend a tech support case, but hoping to get some insight here,I have a cypher G70 bought through VERY,first few days were great, no issues, nothing, then I noticed on boot I am getting five short beeps, the system boots and appears to run fine, although I have had it reboot by itself twice now for no apparent reason.

I tried a process of elimination, unplugged everything, and first go the system booted with no beeps, started plugging things back in and found if I had a mouse and keyboard plugged in it started beeping,so I assumed for some reason it doesn't like them connected, tried it with a cheap combo and the more expensive versions, same results.
Out of curiosity today I unplugged everything, monitor, keyboard, mouse, headphones and vive, all that was plugged in was the ethernet lead, and it did the five beeps!! now should I be worried? it's a brand new build, only thing I have done is add a extra hard drive, all new leads etc,and formatted through windows, done a memory test which came back fine, system seems to run fine when started,it's just these beeps,I don;t know if to just ignore or if I should be concerned.
Anyone any ideas?

Can you post the full specs from the My Account order page, keen to see what motherboard you have. What monitor do you use, and how are you connected to it (HDMI, Display Port)?

Yes,I get the screen come up,but I've not tried to enter bios as I don't want to mess with there if possible in case I make things worse.

Gigabyte aren't great on providing info on their beep codes, and the little that is out there often says 5 beeps = CPU error. But clearly that's not the case, as your PC boots fine, Windows loads etc. I think that the 5 beeps actually relates to GPU. And is caused by either:
  1. Initiatially monitor is not on (or is in standby) when PC is turned on, the GPU doesn't detech a display and you hear 5 beeps
  2. The BIOS checks CPU for onboard graphics and gives 5 beeps when it fails to find one (the F on your CPU indicates no onboard graphics)
I'm not familiar with Gigabyte BIOS, but check if there is an option to disable onboard graphics, so it doesn't do the second check. And make sure monitor is fully powered on for the first.

Let us know if this helps?

You won't believe this, you are a life saver and that was the answer I have been looking for!! I switched on the monitor first just now and then powered on, no beeps!!

I would never had thought it was that simple,I usually power on and leave it for ten mins or so while I sort my dogs out,and the monitor is always off as I leave the system unattended.

I am so grateful for the help,I was almost going to send the system back thinking it was a processor failure!
