It will be fine for both 3D work and gaming battlefield 3 (although it wont play BF3 on the highest of settings).

Are you planning to overclock the cpu? if not go for the 2600, the K version is unlocked for higher overclocks.

16gb may be overkill, however, I'm not certain if 3d will use that much ram.

Personally I'd go for a p8z68 v motherboard, but that's because I have one.

If its for gaming, the 560 will provide good gaming, but not at ultra settings, if you want higher performance go for a gtx570.

See if you can push for a IIyama model monitor, they are very very good.

I max out my 8GB when rendering large scenes in 3Ds Max or Lightwave but then my graphics cards make up for it. 16GB will be great but i dnt think more than 8 is really needed tbh.

Completely depends on the res of the scene, but its having to store all scene objects for a start, im not by any means a pro modeller, but some of my scenes have upto about 50 objects in, each can have upto about 8,000,000 polygons. So scenes get pretty massive. This tends to be for render of car showrooms etc. Although currently working on a exact model of a Britania steam train, all rivets, bolts etc, thats currently on 15,000,000 polys and Ive just finished creating the main chasis.

I would recommend a much better screen, using a 720p screen for 3d modeling will be a pain and having such a nice system is just a waste.

You can get the 2600k or 2700k (£6 more) with PCS, Overclocked. Check on the home page and left hand nav is a link to build you own Overclocked system. They 2700k overclocks to 5ghz on air cooling.

also, if you can stretch your budget to the Nvidia 570 you'll get a much better result in terms of BF3.
