Hi there,

I recently placed an order with a spire thermax eclipse II a fan controller, this is now in pre-production.
Unfortunately the fan controllers are out of stock and not due in until early June, therefore my computer would not be with me for at least a couple more weeks.
The reason I chose a fan controller was that they apparently help reduce the noise dramatically.

It is only another pound for COOLIT ECO II A.L.C liquid cooler, I assume (but can't be sure) they have them in stock.

Will this cooler be as good or better than this? Also will it be quiet?

Thanks in advance.

both coolers are a very good choice, a few things,

-The fan controller, will not be connected to your cpu fan/s, The motherboard controls that.
-The spire is one of the best air coolers available. You can read a little bit about it here.
-The liquid coolers are also very good, some may say a tad extreme, however, they are very good coolers, also alot quieter than the spire.
-I'd say both coolers are going to give you exceptional good cpu temps,

Personally I'd opt for the spire, I as prefer beefy air coolers as opposed to liquid coolers.

Thanks for the reply, I guess I was getting confused..
Is it worth delaying my order for a fan controller do you think? If I take it off my order would it be easy to fit one myself if I think its necessary in the future?
Thanks

what case have you gone for?

Yeah its pretty easy to fit ya self, but if ya do i'd suggest that you watch a few you tube videos to give you an idea, before jumping in.

That is a really nice spec. I have the fan controller and I am always running the fans at 100%, doesn't make much of a difference at full speed since they are almost silent. It really depends on the fans you got in the case.

Thanks Ruben, I bought a much cheaper and less powerful machine about a week ago. £500 pounds later here I am lol.
I think I will just wait for the fan controller, cant afford any games for it anyway...

You've both been helpful - just got 2-3 painful weeks waiting for it now ;)

Thanks again Tom, just changed the case, I think it looks pretty cool.
Looking forward to it now - just need to promise myself not to spend any more on it while it is in pre-production... :)

Hi there bigben, I was in the same boat as you, PC been in pre-production for 14 working days due to lack of fan controller stock.. cancelled the fan controller option, ordered a NZXT Sentry 2 from Systo UK 2 days ago ...(it arrived today) Bang!! recieved email this morning saying my PC has been built & waiting tesing/Quality control. From what I've researched it's not too difficult to fit the controller yourself, he says :sweatdrop:
Good luck with your new PC...
