Dell ultrasharp from 2007 getting really hot?

It's pretty much all in the title.
My old dell ultrasharp 2560x1440 monitor from 2009 is getting very very hot after a while. Not hot enough to burn stuff just hot enough to warm the room up.
Any ideas why? Someone told me it is on the way out.

The older ultrasharp monitors use a CCFL inverter to power a cold cathode backlight. Back in the day it was used as an alternative to LED backlighting.
It's quite normal for it to get hot and it's a common issue with the ultrasharp monitors.
