Is the above cooler ok for overclocking the i7 up to 4.6 or should I go for the next upgrade which is a Noctua NH-D15S Ultra Quiet Performance Cpu Cooler which is another £40?

It's worth the extra for the Noctua I would say.

How much does the above build come to by the way?

The build above is £1491. With the noctua it's £1531. I had a £15 Promo reduction with it :D

Perhaps the OP is looking for specific components but still I think the define X1 is pretty good value for money.

I have a 250gb ssd in my old system and im always near the full capacity hence why i want the 500gb ssd. I thought the cavier black was better then the standard sata 3 hdd hence why i choose the black. Why would I get the 1080 when my monitor only goes up to 1080p. Isnt that a bit overkill? I do see your point tho it is good value for money. Shame the ssd is 250gb and the hdd not a black hehe

I think the comments are more to do with getting better value for money, the caviar black should be better and a bigger ssd is a good choice but those components can be easily upgraded as oppose to,replacing the gpu. If you try to put those components together , in the define X1, it would be significantly more expensive than £1499 which is why it is recommended. If you are happy with your choice go for it, just a different view.

Gwrr you guys are playing with my head. I'm Tempted now. Only problem is i've already arranged a finance payment with my current order. Would I have to cancel the finance and arrange a new one?

sent an email to pcs asking for alter my order for the Define x1 system. What you said makes sense to me. The 1080 alone is worth another £200 quid over the 1070. The system is good value for money and as you said I can upgrade the ssd/hdd further down the road.

Thanks again Keynes and Oussebon for your help! Rep given.

Not necessarily, if your finance has been approved you'll need to basically pay for (or get a refund for) any differences between you and PCS. If you make a change and the price goes up, you'll need to pay PCS the difference directly, if the price drops, PCS will refund you directly.

I rang pcs today and spoke to a very kind gentleman called Richard. He cancelled my old order and refunded my deposit which he said could take from 5-7 days to process.

Unfortunately I couldn't use the old finance agreeement plus pay the difference on the new system which is £9 more. I have to apply for new finance when I order the Define x1 pre-built system.
Knowing my luck i'll get refused this time lol.

He also said give it a few days before placing the new order just so the finance company doesn't get confused hehe.

Oh that's a shame, I guess its different when you're essentially cancelling one order and making a new one... hope everything works out!!
