GPU fan control

OK, I'm not quite sure how to troubleshoot this one (or what google).

My GPU (GTX680) fan control only kicks in when I use Afterburner (for which I set a custom fan profile to keep temps below 70c at all times. Is this likely due to, in the absence of Afterburner, the GPU fan only kicking in at 80c or something? Or is there a box I need to tick in the settings somewhere?!

I'm sure this is a simple fix...

i'll keep this short, :)

Ditch msi afterburner and rivatuner (comes hidden in the install)

Get Evga precision, - http://www.evga.com/precision/

when you install, dont install rivatuner (it gives you an option)

Set up fan profile, and on the main UI tick the "start up" box. (msi afterburner needs to be opened to run, precision doesn't once this box is ticked)

If you want my 680 fan profile let me know. (cards never above 65)

Cheers all, I'll look into it, I have used EVGA precision before. Surely it still isn't right that the GPU fans don't up the speed from 35c up to 75c though?? Irrespective of all 3rd party software there should be SOME control, no? :)

Try reinstalling drivers.
