Gutted...... New PC Arrived today and it doesn't work.

Hey all, I was too late to call the PC Specialist guys so I've had to hook up old faithful just so I can get on the net.

My new PC arrived today, looked lovely, plugged it all in, booted it up. That's where my problems began.

Unfortunately as I haven't got the error in front of me it’s hard to explain, basically I'm getting a black screen error message on start up. Nothing happens and it takes me to the screen where I can go into safe mode etc. It also tells me that I may have to repair windows and insert the disk, restart my PC, choose languages and click repair.

I try that but it just keeps taking me back to the same screen.........

Not sure if anyone can help due to my rubbish description. III just have to wait until Monday.

Sad Times, very Sad indeed

Did you order the system to come with a operating system, and do you havethe disc there?

If so, maybe the best solution is to re-install windows. It would of come with just a standard install and drivers anyway so not any real harm installing it again.
If i remember rightly there is a little booklet or somethign that comes with the PC and i believe it has a little guide on installing windows in there. Give that a go and install windows again, it will wipe the current windows and install a new one. Then use the motherboard cd you received to install the chipset drivers and that will install your onboard network port aswell. You can then do all your windows updates and goto Nvidia/AMD andinstall drivers etc etc.

See how you get on..
If your not too comfortable doing any of that let us know and we will see what we can do or unfortunatley you wil lhave to wait for one of the staff to either reply here or give them a call on monday.

Have you connected any devices, such as USB pen drives, etc., to the PC? If so remove these and connect only the keyboard and mouse.

Secondly, it may be that the computer had a rough transit and the hard drive cable may have become dis-lodged. If possible, please check that the cable is connected to the hard drives and the motherboard by opening up the computer and ensuring the wires are securely fastened.

Finally, you ordered 3 x 1TB hard drives - did you somehow manage to reset your BIOS when first turning on the computer? It could be that the PC is trying to boot from a drive that doesn't have Windows 7 installed on.

If all the above fail - you may have to re-install Windows unfortunately. I can only apologise for this. It can be solved in 30 minutes by inserting your Windows 7 disc and following the instructions in your Welcome Pack.

Please let us know how you get on.
