HDMI or DVI?

Hi guys, last question (hopefully).

I currently use a TV which can accept both HDMI and DVI as a monitor. I plan to get a 24" IIYAMA E2473HDS which I will use as my main monitor so I can watch TV on the other screen.
I tried HDMI with my Xbox but whenever I switched channels it reset the Xbox, do you know if that happens with a PC or was it just a problem with the Xbox? Obviously I don't want to be using it, flick the Tele on and everything to shut down.

It should work perfectly with hdmi. However if you have separate speakers that you should use dvi.
