Headset Help. 7.1 Headset but 5.1 Sound Card

Hi Guys,

I'm pretty new to PC gaming so please excuse my ignorance. I'm currently looking at the headsets PCSpecialist have available and it's just puzzling me that I have a 5.1 Sound Card however I'd like to own a 7.1 surround sound headset. If I buy this headset will it output 7.1 surround or will it only be limited to 5.1 due to my sound card?

Most headsets have in built sound cards, so it bypasses your dedicated sound card. So yes, it will output synthesised 7.1 surround.
