Hey, I'm quite the noob when it comes to PCs and I'd really appreciate some help on whether or not this build is good, worthwhile or even competent. If any of you have any suggestions or edits you think you should be made please let me know and reply! I'd really like any and all advice I can get. I'm hoping to stay around the €1,700 but if I have to go higher I will. I just really want a good gaming PC that will last me a while and run AAA games.

A lot depends on the monitor as that will dictate the graphics card needed and whether the 6700XT is enough or not.

1,700 Euros is on the cusp...200 Euros more (possibly less) and you could get a current gen system. this wouldn't be a finished spec or anything but would give you an idea:

What do you mean by a current gen system? Something that can run AAA games? Thanks for this though, looks very good. Here's my monitor. This is my monitor by the way.

1920 x 1080 display with a 165hz refresh rate.

I'd say max budget is 1,800-1,900. I'd really like not to go over the 2,000 mark and stay as close to 1,700 as I can.
At £2K you can get a all singing all dancing 4K build but your monitor is going to seriously limit the performance of any thing we suggest. 1080p is just an old resolution now and frankly not recommended for a modern system. You will want about £250-£300 spare for a proper 1440p 144hz monitor to support the build properly at the end of the day the computer can only produce what the monitor can display so the max you'll be able to achieve with that is 1080p 165FPS which in this day in age is quite low. 1440p for example is more than double the amount of pixels over 1080p

Sorry, just to clarify do you mean the build I linked or the one recommended? Just want to make sure because I will likely invest in a 1440p monitor in the future but first I'd like to get the computer.

Just out of curiosity since you said it isn't a finished spec, what parts would you say are unfinished/need upgrading? I'm thinking of raising my budget to meet the €1,919,00 price point and so I'm heavily considering this build.

I keep forgetting the Focus 2  If you want some RGB goodness without breaking the bank, then that is definitely the case to go for....I own it's predecessor, the original Focus and it is a fantastic case that performs way better than a lot of bigger so-called premium cases...and the F2 builds on that.
Seems to be popping in and out of the configurator but yeah looks a great case. Performs well and honestly think it looks fantastic, on the smaller size but fractal make very good products

Sorry, I didn't reply to your other post the other day..I meant to, went off to do something else and promptly forgot (my memory is shocking....I stopped doing something yesterday to do something else and, by the time I'd got up out of the chair and walked across the room, I'd forgotten what I was going to do :ROFLMAO:)

So, current-gen: A current gen system is on a different achitecture which means that if, say, in 5 years, you wanted to replace the CPU with a better one, you should be able to just slot one in...previous gen you'd be needing an older one. Current gen also comes with it's own inprovements to performance, efficiency etc. Unless budget doesn't allow it, we would usually recommend a current gen other previous gen

As to the spec being unfinished: When I posted the spec I didn't know your monitor so the GPU I left as it....however, I am not very good with AMD GPUs and mostly have no idea which one suits which level @Steveyg knows more about that than I do

Beyond that, personally, I'd bump the PSU to 1000w to cover for possible future GPU upgrades and the second SSD to 2TB (games are getting big these days)...however, these are luxuries rather than necessities. It really all comes down to whether that GPU is enough for high-end 1440p
Thank you for clarifying! As I said I'm a noob so all this is really appreciated.

Hey! So I noticed the case has now disappeared and is no longer available in the configurator. Do you have any idea what case might be the best to go to instead? I should be able to order this PC in about a week. (I do need 3 USB slots for my mic, keyboard and mouse and I don't particularly care for RGB though it would be nice to have.)

Things go in and out of the configurator all the time mate with stocks, so wait until you're ready to buy and we'll help then because there could be something better by then

Hey! So I should be ordering tomorrow. A friend recommended the Hyte Y60 case which I'm considering, do you have any other recommendations or should I go with that?

Gorgeous case, no doubt. It'll be fine with the components listed above.

The other good options would be the 4000D Airflow, the 4000X, the 5000D Airflow, or the 5000X.

Performance-wise, you should see no issues with it. Personally, I don't like panoramic cases, they just look weird....although that type of case is squarely aimed at streamers (who like to have their system in full view for their viewers), Instagrammers and the like.

I am biased but I can't see beyond the 5000x but I just bought a system with one in so we are still at the lust stage of the relationship....I'll revisist when we get to the married stage :ROFLMAO:
Sweet, okay! I might be torn between the Y60 and the 5000X then. Haha, something I'll have to go over.

On another note, when I was testing checkout it came up with an alert that I had a lot more power supply than I actually needed. I know this doesn't take into account keyboard, mouse, mic, etc, but it was saying I'd only require 482W and still have a 20% allowance. I know you guys said I should upgrade my Power Supply but now I'm wondering what's up with that?

The configurator only takes into account the "now"...when we spec a build, we take into account the "future". We spec builds that can last a potential 10 years with a graphics card upgrade or two along the way....a high end 1440p GPU requires a PSU of 750w minimum so it's possible a 1440p GPU in 2 generations may need more than that. It's better to spend an extra £20 or £30 now rather than a potential £150+ down the road plus the aggravation of fitting a new PSU. Hence why I earlier recommended the 1000w PSU if budget allowed
Ah okay, I understand now! Thanks!
