Is this all ok and compatible together?

Need help, haven't bought a laptop in 6 years and want a top of the range gaming laptop. Would this configuration work without any issues? Is there anything I should add/remove/change?

Did I do something wrong, why no replies?
You did nothing wrong.

What are you planning to use the laptop for? What is your max budget?

The first thing that jumps out to me is personal I would be buying the 1 year dead pixel garuntee.

Also get rid of the bullguard.

*Edit* - Would you also repost your configuration including the link found at the bottom so that I can make some suggested changes then repost here for you.

Ok, i'll look to add the dead pixel guarantee. Why would I get rid of the bullguard?

Config link:

Price: £3,086.00 including VAT and Delivery

Unique URL to re-configure: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/recoil-V-17/uMJqbYsW45/

I'm looking between 2000-3000 to pay as I want one to last a few years, i'd be gaming and streaming/editing with the laptop.

Bullguard is absolutely horrific and is known to cause problems with games. Windows defender which is free and part of the OS is more than capable of protecting your PC so you don't need a 3rd party application.

I have changed your spec slightly which would make it £261 over your budget which I know is a lot.

I have changed your drive configuration so that you now have two drives. The 500GB drive would be where the OS is installed and should just be kept free for your OS. You can drop that down to 256GB but it doesn't save you a huge amount of money. The reason you keep it free for your OS is it improves performance and should in theory extend the lifespan of the drive. Also if your OS drive fails all your games are held on the secondary drive so they shouldn't need reinstalling.

You then have a secondary 2TB drive which would be for your games.

I switched your drives from Intel to Samsung EVO 970. This is slight personal bias. There used to be serious question around the resilience of the Intel drives and frankly I don't trust them. You can switch to corresponding intel 670's but again you wont be saving much money.

I have added the dead pixel grantee and also the 3 year gold warranty. This is expensive but you will be thanking yourself if your GPU dies 1 year 1 day after receiving the laptop and you receive a bill for £900 to replace.

Woups, sorry, i didn't saw your post
To complete what @barlew said :
As primary drive, you should take the samsung 980pro, as it's a pcie 4th gen port (chose the size you want, but don't go lower than 512go)
You should stay at win10
Otherwise, it's a nice machine, you can take a look at my review of the laptop on the forum if you want ^^

@barlew i just have a question, what the difference between the i7-11700k and the i7-11700kf ?

@barlew i just have a question, what the difference between the i7-11700k and the i7-11700kf ?
Going back to a post I wrote and then deleted.

The more I look at it the less I would recommend that I9, the I7 is far better value for money when it comes to gaming.

I didn't choose the 980 as I was trying too keep costs as low as possible. But if you can afford it, it is the better option.

*EDIT* @Tron1982 the KF doesn't have integrated graphics which is why its cheaper than the K. That being said its only £20 cheaper so it may be better to go with the I7-11700K

Thanks you for the answer about the k/kf cpu

but i think it would be a waste to not use the pci 4th gen at it's fullest, that's why i proposed the 980pro

I don't disagree with you.
That's not the same to "agree" XD

Joke aside, @CautiousPaul, i think we manage to provide you with a good spec' here (mine), but if you want, we can try to go a little bit lower if needed (like a little bit less of ram as 16 is enough for gaming nowadays, a smaller primary drive and the kf cpu instead of the k)
