Is this normal?

My pc motherboard makes one continous beep then 4 short ones after which means a hardware failure but this happens when i turn on the pc before i turn on the monitor.

If i turn on the minitor first then the pc its fine is this supposed to happen or do i need to check this out more.

Its normal on some motherboards (mine included) as it doesn't detect a monitor unless its on, you probably have a light on the motherboard too? Just turn your monitor on first as you have noted.

Yeah i do have light on it and its the asus x570 gaming plus. But thanks for that I thought that would be it
