Hi guys, I want to watch a video I bought on itunes although when I try to watch it I get THIS error message.
Nvidia control panel says it does support it though PICTURE.

Does anybody know how to sort itunes out please? I payed for HD, I obviously don't want to watch it in SD.

Also, does anybody know cheaper (legal) places to buy new films etc. online than itunes? I can't help feeling I'm getting ripped off like the people who buy music on it.

Thanks

If your hardware is HDCP compliant it could be you need to reinstall the Itunes software.
you could try the win dvd advisor tool to test your hardware for HDCP capability.

Other sites to have a look at for movies are BlinkBox,Lovefilm Instant and Netflix,as far as I know they are all legal,
but I don't know if they are any better than Itunes.

Cheers,

Guess I'm going to have to try reinstalling itunes then as my display and stuff is definitely HDCP capable.

About the film sites, I hadn't heard of Blinkbox, so thanks for that. Worthwhile article to read here.
I actually have a Lovefilm account which is pretty good but it doesn't have new dvd/bluray releases which is what I was after.

BTW, all of the sites you mentioned are legal, what I meant by that was that I didn't want links to utorrent or anything like that.

Thanks anyway :)

Google Play is another place.

As much as I dislike itunes for other reasons, the big problem here is the way that the movie studios insist on DRM - everyone's being ripped off. In an ideal world, where you buy the file shouldn't matter - if playing on itunes didn't work, you could try with Windows Media Player, VLC or whatever else.

As far as I can tell, there doesn't seem to be much of a standard with the DRM systems for online files, so every system ends up being restricted to viewing through only some software, or only on some type of devices. Yet if someone pirates it, they'll get a file that works just fine on anything they like.

Buying physical media still seems to be one of the better solutions, even though they have DRM, it's more of a "standard" - there's only one kind of Blu-Ray drive, and software to rip it seems to be easier to obtain. Though cracking the DRM in some countries is just as illegal as downloading a pirated copy... (I forget off hand what the current UK situation is.)
