Lapotop constantly crashing starting to really annoy me now

Hey all,

So I waited 25 days (5 weeks) for this laptop to come when it finally came it now crashes very often when playing games which it is built for. It sometimes comes up with the error DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILIURE with a sad face (Windows error) or the laptop completly freezes up making me have to hard reset it. I am extremly annoyed with this order as there seems to be error after error with it.
The laptop I order was an Optimus VII

any help is appreciated greatly because im fed up of this

p.s just to say I am extremely disappointed with my order after spending an obscene amount of money for a crashing laptop which I had to wait for 25 days for.

Are you running Windows 10 by any chance? That BSOD is almost certainly a driver problem, and quite likely the NVIDIA driver too. There are known issues with NVIDIA laptop drivers and Windows 10, a Google search will show you pages full.

The best thing to do is to ensure that all your other drivers are up to date, especially the Intel on-board GPU driver and also the chipset driver. Then you need to experiment with NVIDIA drivers. Start with the very latest and gradually work backwards installing older drivers until you find one that's stable for your platform.

This is a most annoying problem and I share your frustration (I have and Optimus IV) but it's almost certainly a known problem with Windows 10 and NVIDIA, I very much doubt there is anything wrong with your laptop hardware. Sadly PCS cannot influence either NVIDIA nor Microsoft and we need to wait for them to sort out whatever these issues are between themselves.

If you have a legal copy of Windows 8.1 you might want to revert to that because it doesn't suffer from these issues.
