Anyone think Nascar '14 will be good?

I love it when Yanks moan about F1 being boring...really? Do Nascar drivers even know how to turn right?

That said, I just can't see how a nascar game can be interesting, even to big fans of racing games in general. Opinion of course, but going round in a circle again, and again, and again, a...

Even Mario Kart elements/power-ups might struggle to make it fun!

Very niche game really, like Dead said it realistically is just turning left and left. I think I played an old Nascar game where they had a variety of tracks but then the cars were so bad at handling that doing anything other than going round in circles was a chore.

I would much rather play a game like Assetto Corsa than Nascar..

Id imagine driving a Nascar in real life would be exhilarating. But i dont see the sport transfering well as a game.

Of course it would be different if they had proper tracks instead of just ovals - but then you are talking about Touring cars.

I've been on a Nascar simulator and i found it awesome, however i think replicating the exitement on a keyboard and mouse would be impossible. You need the gaming chair and the force feedback equipment.

What even happened to forcefeedback stuff? Did it die out with the joystick?

Also a 3 monitor set up would be preferable

You on about steering wheels and the like Smoke? Im sure they still do them along with joysticks etc - which will probably make a small comeback when Star Citizen is released...

Star citizen is made by Chris Roberts the guy that did the Wing Commander games. Its crowd funded but has raised $30mil+ so far I think. Has a single player campaign but then opens up to be an MMO.

A guy I watch on twitch has the force feedback wheel & pedals. He also has something called Track IR which tracks the movement of your head for freelook in sim games. It also means every time he takes a drink the screen shoots up lol.

I had a force feedback wheel for the pc many years ago, but the missus didn't agree with it so had to get rid of it.
