Seen this the other day. Looks very good but too familiar. The only thing that will set this game apart from the others is the enemy/advesary development thingy as the combat is very similar to Batman Arkham and the sneaking is similar to Assassins Creed.

In fact i read somewhere that they were accused of using AC2 combat code/animations.

Looks like a good game though, but like i said, too familiar for me to be interested in it, especially as i exhausted myself with AC4. It looks to be one of those games i'll get a while after release once it goes on sale for less than a tenner.

yeah i also heard about that, defiantly looks like they have taken some assassins creed coding. Climbing looked exactly the same

I'd almost then have preferred Ubi to make the damn game in the first place :)

That said, nowt wrong with a bit of imitation, and at least it might bring something a bit different to the LotR gaming scene.

Oh, and of course (one of the few times this meme sort of works in the context of the topic)...

I think it looks alright, like others have said it's very samey to AC + Batman though which lets face it, just turned into "watch this group of blokes attack me 1 by 1 and counter whenever I see the little symbol".

I've have liked to see something a bit more creative and challenging, perhaps something like Dishonoured.

I would have liked something more than "Stand in the middle of a circle repeatedly hitting the counter button" :D
Yeah that seems to be the popular fighting mechanic for games at the moment. To me its almost like its an "easy out" for developers. "Ok we need a fighting system that looks good and is easy to pick up and simple to play as we dont want to put of the masses with an over complicated combat system..."

Dunno if anyone else played it but Kingdoms of Amalur had a great combat system. They could do something like that, otherwise i wish they would do something along the lines of Dark Souls. Would definately fit the setting.

I liked KoA (still in my installed list, which says something :) )

The only thing with the combat being AC-esque, is that the rumoured code was from AC2...now don't get me wrong, I loved Ezio's moves, but Kenway's (and Connor's) are so much better, that I hope they just used the lifted code (or inspiration if that is all it was) and improved it :)
