I have seen reviews discussing high temperatures with this particular chassis but the same has been said of the Defiance V which I was also considering. Would a cooling pad and potentially Throttlestop be sufficient to mitigate this?

I was also wondering if the mini display port supports daisy chaining multiple monitors?

Finally, I have seen the Proteus Series offering G-Sync in the past. Would it be worth waiting to see if this will be offered in future or would screen tearing not be an issue with a decent fps?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The spec looks very sound.

I'm not intimately familiar with the full history of PCS's Proteus branded laptops but I don't recall ever seeing one with gsync. The Defiances used to have it and for me it was one of the things that set them apart :). As you say, I believe tearing is less of an issue with a high FPS (and from what very little I've seen with my own eyes, I can appreciate that).

Though for this kind of money I'd probably want a laptop with gsync tbh.

If you don't do much gaming on the go then maybe that's not an issue and you could use an external gsync monitor.

I'd suggest asking PCS directly about the daisy-chaining.

Thermals shouldn't be an issue though you're right that some people have posted with complaints about these. You shouldn't have to undervolt to have safe temps, but it's always an option e.g. via throttlestop if you want to keep temps as low as possible.

Thank you for your response.

I've decided that gsync wouldn't be essential and opted to go for it as is, with a nicely timed price drop to £1,688 :)

That was well-timed! :) I feel like the RAM prices might have fallen, accounting for part of that. They're falling across the market now and that might have just touched PCS too...
