New gaming pc with overclocked cpu help.

Hi, i recently got my new pc with an i5 3570k 3.40 - 4.60 GHz, but am wondering, does the processor come ready overclocked? (got it from the overclocking section).

Unless you ordered a pre overclocked system from PCS (i.e. didn't use the configurator)it will have come clocked at 3.4ghz. The cpu has a feature that overclocks individual cores to 3.8ghz (turboboost) if they are running below power.

I configured it from this section (configured) http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/intel-1155-overclocked/, so does this mean my system is overclocked? if not i am buggard cus i have no idea how to overclock, and do not want to damage my system.

It should be overclocked and you could test it by running prime95. It should increase the clock speed only when the cpu is pushed. What applications are you running?

If the BIOS has reset and lost the settings then we can guide you through how to re-enter them.

Not sure what u mean by applications, if it means software that manages overclocking, then i have no idea haha.
