New hard drive. Not booting.

Just installed a new hard drive and two more ram modules (kingston hyper x beast) and now my PC isn't booting into windows. I can't enter the bios. The machine just goes to a black screen.
I wasn't wearing a static strap when handling the ram and HDD so could I have broken it?
Any ideas? Thanks.

To be honest I haven't seen a hard drive or dimm die of esd before so I doubt that is the problem.
Are there any LEDs lit up on the motherboard? If so what does the text say next to it?

With the new ram and hard drive installed, remove the coin battery on the motherboard for a minute or so then put it back in. Make sure that the machine is not plugged in while doing this. Depending on your motherboard there might be a clear cmos switch on the rear i/o. Check the manual if you don't know where it is. Either will do.
When you turn it on check that your os drive is selected as second in the boot priority after dvd or first if you don't have an optical drive.
