Old machine resale value?

I finally ordered an upgrade to my system and am excited for the new one, but am figuring out what to do with the old machine.

The power supply just failed, and I'm keeping the ssd/hdd, but I figure the rest might be useful to someone at least for parts and am wondering if it's worth anything. The specs are:

CORSAIR CARBIDE SERIES™ AIR 540 GAMING CASE
Overclocked CPUOverclocked Intel® Core™i7-4790k Quad Core (4.00GHz @ upto 4.70GHz)
MotherboardASUS® Z97-A: ATX, USB3.0, SATA 6GB/S, SLi, XFIRE
Memory (RAM)32GB KINGSTON HYPER-X BEAST DUAL-DDR3 2133MHz X.M.P (4 x 8GB KIT)
Graphics Card2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 770 - 2 DVI, HDMI, DP - 3D Vision Ready
Processor CoolingCoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO (120mm) Fan CPU Cooler

I don't think the PSU took anything else out with it - it just started taking a few attempts to start up, then stopped reaching POST entirely - the fan would spin once then it would switch off. Other than that everything else seemed to be working, though obviously I can't run full checks on the components without fixing the PSU.
What do you think is reasonable to ask for this lot, collection only, no guarantee? and where would you try and sell it?

Nobody can tell you I'm afraid. It's not something we can help with. Take a look at online sales sites to see what similar builds are selling for.

I was just asking about people's opinion or experience with this, not some official or precise answer, since presumably lots of other people here have at some point upgraded and dealt with the question of what to do with an old machine.

Value depreciates massively when selling a PC, even more so when it comes to selling a broken system for parts, where you can’t guarantee all the components will work.

And seeing as we deal with the business of helping spec brand new, bespoke systems, flogging old ones is definitely not an area many of us would have a depth of knowledge in. @ubuysa is right, you’re best off looking at resale sites like eBay to see if you can come up with a realistic figure.

You can also try your luck with a site like Tom’s Hardware, it’s a different community on there with it being an open forum. Someone may have the answers you seek there.

Unfortunately whilst we could make some guesses, it really is down to how much people will pay for them, ie what any recently similar ones are selling for, for instance we could reckon it'd be worth 1000 quid (this is a number I thought out of thin air btw, it would not sell for that) but if others are being sold for 300 (again number out of thin air) then that guess of 1000 will not do you any good at all.

As said your best bet is to check out the other places where you can sell PC's ( eBay, Gumtree etc) and see what PC's of similar specs are going for
