2,300 is my budget

and it will be used for gaming mainly

i will be upgrading my monitor but atm im using a benq zowie xl 144hz 1ms

Okie dokie, ta. I take it you’ll have a separate budget for the monitor? What sort of screen will you be looking for? The 3080 is 4K at 144Hz or super ultrawide at 144Hhz. You’re probably looking at a minimum of £800 for the monitor so if you’re not going to be chucking that kind of money at it, you might be able to move to the 3070 and save some moolah 👍
