Is it possible to order a laptop from PCS with UK VAT not applied to it ? I'm in Germany, and self-employed (German VAT registered). I understand (from others) that trying to claim back UK VAT is a considerable pain in the backside.
Personally, when I was issuing invoices to a UK company for work I was doing for them, I was told that I could (and should) not add German VAT to my invoice. There was some inter-EU tax exemption where they realise it's a business-to-business invoice and that cross-border VAT recovery is annoying, so it doesn't need to be charged. I do have to add German VAT when issuing invoices to German companies though.
So, is it possible to order a system from the UK without UK VAT? I realise that you (PCS) then have the issue of determining whether the person ordering is eligible for a UK VAT free order. Maybe it's something that can be handled on the import side, where I have to pay German VAT when I receive it (that's fine, claiming that back is **** easy).
