Overclocking + RAM Question

I have a few questions about potentially overclocking my CPU to gain improved performance, as well as about upgrading RAM

1. Is it feasible to overclock with only the £19 air cooler that you can specify from the PCS order screen?

2. If so, how much of an overclock could I get and not damage the CPU?

3. I have 1333Mhz RAM at the moment - what speed would I need to buy to see a noticeable increase in performance?

Thanks.

1- it is feasible but you may want to be careful with the temps when increasing the clock speed, if the cpu you are referring to is the one in your signature (i5-2500) it is not unlock for overclocking.
3- increasing in performance for?

Should read i5-2500K.

Increase in performance for gaming, some video and audio editing.

No noticeable difference when gaming, some benefit for video editing but if it involves you replacing memory for a higher memory bandwidth for video edition I'd suggest adding an additional 8gb instead.

Cheers. Also just realised I do in fact have the i5-2500 (nearly two years since I bought it, and I didn't even notice) - so no overclocking for me. :(
