I would upgrade the the hard disk to a Caviar Green/Black and get the Arctic overclocking paste, I'm not really sure if you'll benefit from having the i7-2600 overclocked though for programming.

I agree. :) The K series seems a bit OTT for a server :p RAM and fast/read write in the form of a Gen 3 Intel SSD is what would be most beneficial here :p

Thanks for reply. I was thinking to make it my server as well in future and so was thinking for i7-2600 overclocked. Which processor, do you recommend would be a good server?

Do you think, 8 GB RAM is good or should I try for more? I definitely liked the idea of better Hard Disk.

The i7-2600 is one of (if not) the best processors on the market today, and therefore will be more than sufficient for your requirements, even as a server. Again, 8GB of RAM will be more than adequate even with multimple connections to your server.

Agreed, the standard 2600 will be fine as are the 2400 & 2500. It's just the guys don't think that overclocking (risk causing potential instability and reduced lifespan for extra performance) is a great idea for a server that's all. As we all know, we want servers to be as stable as possible!
