Recommended screen cleaner for a Matte finish LED screen

Hi all,

I've had an Optimus IV laptop for a few months now and absolutely love it. The only on-going niggle I have with the laptop is to do with the screen, in that it's a pain to keep clean.

Don't get me wrong, I fully understand that I'll never return it back to it's pristine 'brand new' look, but I wondered if any of you use a technique or product on your own screens that help to keep it in a good condition?

Ultimately, I just want to remove dust marks, finger print smudges etc. A microfibre cloth on a shiny gloss finish works wonders, however this is a Matte finish and unfortunately doesn't work as well.

Appreciate any advice :)

My Optimus IV hasn't arrived yet but I've had many laptops with matt screens over the years. I use a proper laptop cleaning spray, one with a manual pump action rather than a spray can, and a number of soft paper towels (thick and soft). I make sure that the sprayed cleaner remains on the screen for a minute or so before very gently wiping it away. Stubborn stains I remove by applying several sprays and gentle wipes rather than by rubbing harder. A final "polish" with a dry soft paper towel leaves the screen looking great. Of course dust is soon attracted (by static electricity I assume) but I've never scratched or damaged any laptop screen using this process.

Most computer shops stock pump action laptop cleaning sprays, you'll find them on eBay too.

Sorry this isn't regarding "screen cleaning" rather its a question about your matte screen...what are the colours like? Picture quality, is it any different to a glossy screen?

Thanks.
