Removable keycaps on Octane Series laptop

Hi All,

I've had a look around and cannot get a definitive answer on this - so wondering if anyone knows whether the keycaps on the Octane Series (model number P775TM1) are removable for cleaning? Many thanks!

You'd need to ask PCS directly for a response but I don't think so, afaik the entire keyboard is removable (I just googled the model number and a few ebay listings were for the entire keyboard, don't look removable to me) ...

Appreciate that's definitely not conclusive, hopefully another Octane owner here could answer but you might need to contact PCS directly.

Thanks Steaky360, appreciate the swift reply. I'll give PCS a shout directly and see what they say.. I'm not sure they are - and certainly don't fancy testing it :).

Thanks again and will update post if I get conclusive confirmation either way.

Just to follow up this thread (for others if they've having similar problems). PCS have replied confirming that the keycaps for this model are not removable, and the only option is to remove the keyboard:

<snip>Thank you for the email. The keyboard keycaps are not designed to be removable from that keyboard. We would recommend using a can of compressed air to blow under the keycaps to try dislodging any dust or debris that might be located underneath them. If that does not work, you can try removing the whole keyboard from the laptop and try flexing the keyboard slightly (as it is slightly flexible once removed from the laptop to try and dislodge any dust or larger debris. Please do be carful when doing this as twisting it too far can result in the keyboard being bent out of shape and not fitting inside the laptop again.<snip>.

I've gone back to them and asked for any instructions on how to remove keyboard, and also whether this is something they can do (if I send it back to them). Will update.

EDIT:: PCS has replied with instructions on how to remove the keyboard, but not answered about the repair/replacement. I'm searching for replacement boards now, but doesn't look good.
