Selling gtx 580...

As title states i want to sell my gtx 580 1.2gb so where, how, any one interested and ? price should it be... what about £300 cheap or expensive, your thoughts. As for graphics state i don't know.. by which i mean i ordered it with the build and I've yet to get it. I also don't want to change the order because it might effect the whole build process and i don't want to make it any longer.... thanks in advance... ( i'm new to hardware stuff so, I don't have a clue ? i'm talking about)

So you want to sell ya 580 that's coming in ya new build?

If so why? You would lose value, as you do not have the packaging also it would be second hand, you will be much better of money wise, to call up and change the gpu to something you want. As opposed to paying for a 580 then wanting to sell (which would be at a loss) then using the money to buy a better gpu. You may as get the better gpu in the first place.

Yeh I agree with Tom.

Seems pointless paying for a card with the build if just going to sell it straight away. Electrical items do not hold value at all. I would ring as soon as you get a chance and either ask them to omit the GPU altogether or get another one. It wouldnt take much longer for them (PCs) to exchange the card or just remove it altogether.

and I doubt very very much you would get 300£ for a 2nd hand 580 (even in new condition). They are only 430€ for a 1.5Gig brand new for the 772Mhz versions.

£300 is very steep for a second hand GTX580 1.2gb ( do they come in this size ? , thought it was 1.5gb or 3gb) - i bought my gainward & my point of veiw GTX 580s 3GB models for only £349.99 each brand new.

would be definately better to just change the build .

are u here to criticise me or help me... do u understand my question. first off i'm trying to sell gtx 580 and i just layed out 300 as assumption and want to know what would be a good price to sell... and as for changing haven't got any reply from them yet plus having problem with ph. And as i stated above i don't know much about building nd before my friend could recommend me the gtx 670 which i'm going to replace gtx 580, i had already placed order nd had been more than a week and didn't want to change the order 3rd time.... nd know that i would be selling at a loss which is why i asked here to get good price. Last.. my reason for doing this is because this is my very first build and its an expensive one nearly £2000 and i want to get a better component as i can get my hand on for starter so... if you all would be so kind to answer the question i'm asking that would be helpful... nd reason i'm replying to tom_gr7 is because he's the head and the rest other...

I personally dont appreciate the tone in your last post. Every poster in this thread only posted to try and help you. As I highlighted above, You stated 300 "your thoughts" so WE ALL gave our thoughts, as to your question.

Also as far as you comment on not wanting to change as it "might" effect the build, All we where trying to do is highlight the fact that if you ring PCS then

If all you wanted was to know how much you should sell your 580 for then thats what you should have asked.

Just my opinion.. Its Nice to be Nice.....

My answer to that question would be approx 150-200£. Cant see anyone paying much more then that, but about that considering it should still have a warranty. (not 100% sure how that works mind you if you sell it on, as far as Pcs go)

if it was my rig, I would give pcs a call, if you click here, you can see the call centre waiting times, call first thing Monday morning before things get busy.

As buzz said just ask them to swap the 580 for a 670, the price is going to be similar, its alot better than paying £300 for the 580, selling it for £200 or so, then spending £300+ on a 670, you would lose about £100, plus the seller will have no warranty nor any packaging.

I have no idea if it slows the build down, no one on here would except someone at PCS HQ. Even if it does slow the build a few days you save the hassle from selling a 2nd card gpu, save cash then hassle of having to get another gpu, which you may in fact end up waiting for anyway.

As much as others were trying to help i really didn't get the answer of my simple question which was selling gtx 580.... (As title states i want to sell my gtx 580 1.2gb so where, how, any one interested and ? price should it be...) so despite my reply i'm not partially to blame for the reaction and i apologizes for that... nd u sir answered my simple question and that's all i'm here for so thank you...

A specific answer to ya question,

I'd say 150-200ish
A - No packaging, to package it adequately in transport/postage
b - PCS warranty does not transfer over when a component is resold.
C - Even though its new it would still be classed as "used"

Are you sure its a 580? there isnt a 1.2GB model of that card, only 1.5GB and 3GB, the GTX570 has 1.25GB, are you sure this isnt the card?
