Skyfire IV - AC adapter issue

Hi everyone,

I've recently bought a new laptop from PC Specialist. I have to say that I was happy from using it until yesterday night - the laptop suddenly shut down while gaming.

The problem occurred first time. I play Eve Online, which is not very demanding game, on high settings. Last night, the laptop dies just in one moment, during game play, while being plugged to the charger. The battery was inside as well, fully charged. I've managed to boot the system without any issue, however, he battery charger did not provide power to the laptop anymore. This seems to be charger issue, but I have to make sure before I claim warranty ( I bought the laptop 2 months ago).

The ac adapter model is:

Chicony A-10-090P3A REV.1
INPUT:100-240V -1.5A 50-60Hz
OUTPUT:19V 4.74 90W

Another question is: would it be possible that anything else causes my laptop not to be charged by the ac adapter? I would also like to add that I use a cooler pad which also drains power from the ac adapter (I suppose). I have also re-installed a new copy of Win7 Professional Dell OEM 64bit , which for no reason, caused "blue screen" 2 times during idle status.

If the adapter is dead due to overheat or any other reason, can I use another ac adapter compatible with MSI GE40 barebone? E.g MSI GE40-i760M2811 AC adapter.

I would be very grateful for any help :)

If it is a OEM windows version you cannot transfer it to a different laptop. It might be the case that the windows version that you have may have also installed drivers that are not part of your laptop.

You may be right about it. I bought this version of OS only for an activation key and I'm planning to re-install OS to a clean Win7 Professional 64bit. However, the laptop is not charged while it is turned off. It also does not work on charger only, with battery being taken out.
