sound issues

I have a Vortex IV with onkyo speakers, when i play sound with headphones plugged in it plays through the speakers and the headphones at the same time! It doesnt recognise that there are headphones plugged in, ive checked the playback devices and headphones arent there! Please help! Im using realtek audio manager

Had to reinstall drivers and then enable stereo mix, for anyone getting this problem.

Right click sound (in the taskbar)
click playback devices
click recording tab
Right click either of the options and show disabled and disconnected devices
Enable the stereo mix
