Thanks for all the reply’s, apologies but I don’t understand some of the responses - I am a long way from a tech wizard I’m afraid. I think you are saying get a 4K 144hz tv as best option - could I assume this might get me 120-150 FPS playing fort nite?

It will get you a maximum of 144fps.

Hz translates as fps. So for example, you can't get 240fps if you only have a 144Hz monitor.

So would the build spec of computer get me 240 hz(FPS) with the right monitor? If not, can I ask what I might improve in the build to get me closer? Thank you again for your time and knowledge

Do you play Fortnite professionally? Does visual quality matter, or can settings be lowered for higher FPS?

So... just to make you aware, most humans cannot tell the difference in frames per second once it gets to about the 120 mark. So spending a bucketload of cash to get a monitor that can output 240 FPS is largely pointless to almost the entire population.

The only people who really would benefit from them are the eSports competitive gamers with super human reflexes (and even they lose it with age, that’s just physiology). These gamers also tend to turn all their graphical settings down incredibly low so that the image they’re looking at is rubbish. For these guys there’s huge cash prizes available so the extra milliseconds they gain from this may count.

For us everyday mortals, 144Hz is pretty much the industry standard, so if I were you I’d opt for a monitor with that refresh rate. And if you start annihilating the opposition and go pro, that’s the only scenario you’d need to even think about 240Hz. If you go down that road and end up winning tournaments and all the dollar, I hope you think of your old mentor AgentCooper and how he put you on the road to victory.

I accept cash, cheques and most major credit cards 👍
