Hi, new member.
I accidental spilt a small amount of water onto my laptop keyboard. it was dripping out it for a while.
It was off at the time as well and the battery was disconnected.
Is it dead?
Any help would be suggested.
Thanks.

There is still a good chance that the laptop is ok considering that it was off at the time.
Liquids will normally only do damage if there is electricity going through the components.
Just leave the laptop in a dry and warm place for a couple of weeks or so (just to be safe). Take the bottom panel off if you can.
It should be dry after that time. Then you can try to power it on.
Remember that this might not fix it but hey it's worth a shot :)

For extra help, you can lay it on top of a load of plain uncooked rice... this helps draw out water from the internals. Crazy I know, but it does work.

I heard that if you place it in a tray with loads of uncooked rice then, in the middle of the night Asians come along, attracted by the rice, and fix your laptop for you. True story. (Just kidding)

But no, the only thing that may be damaged could be the keyboard. These aren't like old laptop keyboards - they are now sealed units and once the water creeps in it will not dry for a very very very long time. The keyboard is very easy to buy and replace (About £30-50) - so long as your laptop is ok and fully dry (leave it at least a week) you should be ok. Remove the battery and the back panel.

Do not take a hairdryer to it.

Thanks.
I forgot to reply back :)
The lappy is fully dried out now and is working a treat. Cheers.
