Hi there, you're definitely allowed to discuss this here, PCS are very open about allowing people full access to their machines once they buy them.
Obviously your new SSD wouldn't be covered by your PCS warranty but you won't void your PCS warranty by installing the SSD (assuming you don't damage anything in the process).
I'd imagine it'll fit but there are a limit on the number of HDD's you can fit inside the Cosmos II laptops (not sure if its 2 or 3 and then you need a caddy). I'm sure someone on here will help point you in the right direction!
Do you know if you can add an ssd along with the current hdd that comes with the cosmos II while keeping the disc drive? So you would be running the original HDD alongside the new SSD and disc drive.
Have placed an order with just an HDD and disc drive, but more looking to the future with this question.
Thanks
The Cosmos II
"can only support one of the following combinations of hard drives/DVD/Blu-ray drives:
a) 1 x hard drive and 1 x DVD/Blu-ray drive;
b) 2 x hard drives and 0 x DVD/Blu-ray drives."
but you can add an mSATA SSD Drive.
I believe it has space for 1 hdd/ssd and one msata, you may be able to switch out the optical drive for a spare hdd bay.
Thanks for help, will probably look at getting a switch on the optical drive in a few years. Only reason I got it with an optical drive was because I still do occasionally use disks, but this is becoming rarer and rarer particularly with Steam so readily available.
