Alright guys, purchased my new Laptop for uni and it'll be the first time I have a SSD. Quick question, what do you actually install in terms of software etc apart from the OS onto the SSD? What about you guys?
I have a 240gb as my primary drive on my laptop and have win 8.1, all programs including office, steam, origin, uplay, iTunes, and lots of benchmarking tools as well as around 15 games. All my music and data files including films are on my secondary drive.
I see, yeah thats what I was thinking. OS/Spotify/Office/1-2 games would 120GB be fine for this? Or do you advise jumping up to 250GB? (How much have you used with those applications loaded onto your SSD?)

I think for the programs you've stated 120 would be fine. It's the games that take up the space. On my desktop I have a 120Gb SSD and could only have a couple of games installed at a time and I found it restrictive. My laptop ssd os maxed out with the programs listed, but I purposely installed as many games as I could to see how many would fit. The difference between 120 and 240 is big for a primary drive. I think 120 would do for you certainly to start, but I'm of the feeling that you would soon find it restrictive. If you can afford 240, I think it's worth the extra 30 ish quid.
I'm a very monogamous gamer and play one game until I've finished playing it. As such my 120GB main drive has been plenty for me so far and I anticipate it will continue to be plenty.
I have 65.1GB left after all the things that are always installed.
