I just purchased myself a gorgeous Defiance 17. It's perfect in every way except for the fact that whenever I change the settings of my touchpad (such as pointer speed as the default is painfully slow), the settings are reset to default every time I restart the laptop.
It appears to be a known issue with Windows 10 compatibility with Synaptics touchpads but the standard online solution of:
Run regedit.exe
Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Install
Open key called DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade
Change the value to 0
Doesn't work for me as I don't have a key called DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade.
Any clues? Anyone else suffer from this?
