two questions on my CORSAIR GRAPHITE SERIES™ 600T WHITE MID-TOWER CASE

here's a picture of the case, incase you can't visualise it!

I received my Computer from PC Specialist about 3 weeks ago and i love it.
I have just two questions, though.

1. I received the Case with the Mesh in the side panel as i asked for 2 extra fans. I was thinking of swapping it with the Clear Window, but on attempting it, it seems that i have to snap the mesh 'teeth' out (e.g break it) - which seems to suggest that it can't get swapped back at a later date.
Is this true?

2. There is a strange USB cable that sticks out of the back of the case, just dangling there. I tried to trace the cable through the Computer Tower, but lost it in amongst the other cables. does any one know what it is for?

thanks for any help you can give me :)

Hi David,

Not sure about the mesh, do you mean the clear window from the pictures is not there and you have mesh instead? Would you be able to take a picture of your case to show us?

With regards to the USB cable, again it would be helpful to see what you mean.

What are your full specs? I for example have something similar coming from my PC and the ROG motherboard, its related to the boards OC' functions (on my board it connects to the OC key). Is the thing you're referring to actually a USB cable?

sorry about there not being any pictures. i'm currently at work and just remembered i wanted to start this thread!

here's a picture of the Computer with the Mesh in it:

here's the same panel but with the clear window in it:

basically, you can install either the Mesh, or the Clear Window, in the Window section of that side panel.

as for the USB cable. It's definitely a USB cable as it can be plugged into the USB port at the back of my computer. i could plug it into the back of my computer but i wouldn't know what it does.

here are my specs

i will take some pictures tonight, if necessary, and post them here.

It's possible the USB cable is for connecting the USB 3.0 port at the front, but best check with PCS,

Yup I agree with Vanthus, it could be a USB for the front panel that could not be connected. I can't see for sure from reviews of the board whether anything else would be included (like I was intimating before).

As for the case, it seems as though the window / mesh are two separate side panel options. I wouldn't have thought you were meant to take the mesh out and insert the clear window. Were you provided with a window from PCS?

Thanks for your replies.
Here's an image of the USB cable coming out the back.

I've only tried 2 of the USB ports at the front of the case and they both already work. I'll try all other ports at a later date

Hopefully you can see what my fingers are pointing at.
The mesh is basically clipped into tiny holes in the side of the case. The only way I can see of removing the mesh is to snap it out.

The case comes with both Mesh and Clear Window insert for the side panel, as standard, so I was hoping I could swap them whenever. I wanted to

Isn't there 4 x USB 2.0 and 1 x USB 3.0 at the front? if so it could be to feed the USB 3.0 port or a couple of USB 2.0 ports,I know PCS have done this in the past if there isn't the required headers on the motherboard.

It may well be the case!
There's one port that looks to be a USB port, which says 'ss' above it. I presume this is usb3, but I haven't tried it yet. I'll give it a go.
I guess nothing bad will happen if I plug a non usb3 ready Device into the usb3 port? Only one way to find out :)

It's okay to connect a USB 2 device to a USB 3 port, the ss means Super Speed, which is USB 3.0.

I've checked and can confirm the USB cable is for the usb3 port.

Hopefully someone else knows if the Mesh Window for the side panel of the case can be removed without breaking it.
I'm sure someone must have the same case and swapped the mesh for the clear window, or vice versa.
