I have my PC connected to a Sony Bravia 32 inch through HDMI,
I need to connect to HDMI 3 to get sound through the TV,(you may not require that)
yours might be different, check your TV manual.

I have a KDL 40Z4500 I think my PC connecting HDMI is the number 2 HDMI, was it just a case of plug it in and away you went or did you have to go into the settings on the graphics card and sound options to select HDMI?
I was also wondering if you used mini HDMI from the graphics card to the Bravia and what resoloution you are playing your games at, was there any problems going full HD?

For sound to TV I enable HDMI audio device in playback devices in sound panel.
I normally only use the TV to play programs like eastenders from BBC iplayer if
the wife has missed an episode.
The TV is in a different room,I ran the cable under the floor.
If your using TV as a monitor you could just use ordinary speakers,as TV speakers are not all that great really.
I dont use mini HDMI,that shouldn't make any difference though.
