Very strong iCUE Link connectors...

Well, the actual plug is a very strong fit...however the pins/wiring housing not so much 🤣

Broken iCUE Link connector.jpg

BTW, this was simply from me pulling the cable out (by the knurled section) to replace the QX120 fan with a QX140 fan.

Now I have got to wait for a replacement iCUE LINK y-cable  - but that does mean I have time/opportunity to remove the HDD cage and reposition the iCUE hub where I'd prefer it (y)

Oooo dear, has it actually cracked loose, or just unclipped?

Broken off, with jagged edges!

But the replacement is only £9.99.

I think it's because of how tight the cables were (possibly due to them being quite short) - even the 90º to 90º one from the side fans to the bottom fans (135mm) only just reach, so I assume there's some pressure on them too. There are longer ones (250mm + 600mm) in the Titan AIO range, but Corsair don't see them individually yet...and I'm not paying £129 for an AIO just to get 2 cables.

Because they're not gold-plated, low-oxygen, crystal-imbued audio cables, and I'm not an audiophile!

I’m afraid I do subscribe to decent ANALOGUE cables as they can make a difference, I’m sure it’s all in my head, but that’s where the music goes too

But you try to educate an audiophile on network communication and they’ll double down for days to come, I’ve started a few 100 post threads on audiophile communities on the subject

You know it’s a huge thing in the audio world for ludicrously expensive networking cables and switches?

This one costs a cool £2100 for 4 x 100mb ports (What???) and 4 x 1gb ports

And a beautiful 12m network cable ā€œCAT 7ā€ (willing to bet this would fail a standards check) for Ā£2350

The fact that most of these dudes with ludicrous home networks are streaming high res from Qobuzz or somewhere, it doesn’t enter their minds that that stream has gone through god knows how many switches and thousands of miles of cable globally before it hits their meaningless home network doesn’t seem to register with them

BUT I have paid more than I should have for interconnects for my record deck and phono stage, ie more than a £5 cable

Well, Corsair customer services are pants.

Asked them when those 2 new cables are being released to retail, and they simply said:
We don't have any stock, and don't know when we will have them in stock. I suggest you speak to your local reseller to see if they have any stock. You can find your local reseller here...
No local reseller even lists the part number

So I pity any Titan RX AIO owners who need a spare cable!

On the positive side, my fan upgrades, cable replacement, and HDD cage removal are done and I haven't broken anything else in the process šŸ¾
Bravo! I still need to fit my iCue RGB power cables for GPU and 24pin motherboard, then sort out the mess of cables, may have that done by next year
