Vortex 3 Audio question (increase bass)

I have a Vortex 3 17" (the specs aren't required imo)

I have a set of expensive audio technica headphones which lack some bass when connection to a PC audio jack (mobile, ipod sound is fine).
I have a PC with a Audigy sound card and on it I can manually increase the Bass. With this done, the headphones sound the way I want them.

However on my Vortex 3, I don't have this option in Sound Device Properties, or Realtek HD Audio Manager.
Is there a way to Update drivers, install new software or add ons (or something else) that will enable me to manage, specifically increase the bass of my onboard (headphones) sound?

I do have THX TruSudio Pro installed (came with the laptop) and there via Settings I can decrease or increase the "Crossover frequency", but when the headphones are in, I don't see that taking effect on them (which is normal).

Any suggestions?

The bass on an integral audio device on a laptop is pretty limited,I don't think there's much you can do about it apart from using an external sound card.

Try DFX Audio Enhancer, it's not free (currently $29.99) but it does work, I've used it on other laptops and on my Optimus IV for a while but it doesn't help the inbuilt speakers that much. It will help with your headphones though.
