Vortex III Random Shutdowns

Hi all. I'm pretty stumped, to say the least, at the latest problem I've been having... For some reason, when playing demanding games such as Crysis 2, Borderlands 2, Dead island, etc, my laptop decides to turn itself off at 94% battery nearly every time. If I'm lucky it gets to around 85%. It isn't overheating since I can play games when plugged in without it turning off, and there isn't any dust blocking the fans. I have all the latest drivers for my GPU. My specs are:
Radeon HD 7970m
Intel i7 3610Qm
This problem is very frustrating and annoying, it means that I cannot even play many games anymore since it turns off without warning. It hasn't always been this way, I remember being able to play Boderlands 2 and Crysis 2 when the battery was at 75%, but now it's just 94%. I have noticed that on Borderlands 2, it started turning off at 85%, a few days later at 94%. I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone knows the cause/solution to this. Thanks.

Sounds more like a potential heat problem and not a battery one. The fact the battery is going down is just coinciding with the fact you have been playing X game for an amount of time.

I would install some CPU/GPU temperature checking software and see what temperatures your radeon and CPU is getting too. You can try http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

EDIT: I'm making sure that the laptop's bottom fans are raised, but when playing demanding games the laptop still shuts down. I'm sure it isn't overheating due to the fact that it gets to around 70 degrees now instead of 80... very concerned over what the cause is.

Probably worth giving PCS tech support a call for this one.

If it never happens when plugged in but does on battery then I would be inclined to suggest a faulty battery. I don't think it is an overheating issue but if it is it's much more likely to be the GPU than the CPU: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/

How long has this been happening and does the laptop completely power off, rather than just sleep mode or hibernate?

It's been happening pretty much as soon as I got the laptop (August 2012). It wasn't too bad, I just thought it was because the battery was at around 75% the games were overpowered for it, however as of late (I'd say the last 1-2 weeks) Games like Borderlands 2 (Which used to work at 70% power) now shut off after literally 5 or less minutes of play, same with Crysis 2, Dead Island, etc. When this happens it completely switches off. Earlier I put wood under the laptop to raise it, allowing more air out of the bottom fans, but the laptop still turned off. (Note that the fans are clean).
I have also noticed (for the last 2 days now), when I pick my laptop up to put it into its case, hear something moving inside, such as a loose component... Not too sure, but I'm getting very worried. I've also noticed slower performance when not playing games, along with 2 BSOD's in a row, so I restored my laptop to a few days ago to revert to the original clevo drivers. Thanks.
