What have I done to my battery?! (Defiance 15.6")

Hi all,

I opened my laptop and unplugged the battery, then put it back in.

Now it doesn't work. Laptop will not switch on and powers off immediately when unplugged from the mains power source.

Strangely enough, the battery in Windows shows it's fully charged and at 100%

Only thing different is that I have just replaced the keyboard. (I always disconnect batteries when replacing parts)

If the laptop works on mains power then your keyboard change isn't a problem. My guess would be that there is dirt on the battery terminals or you might have damaged the connectors. Take the battery out and check the state of all the connectors and if you can give them a clean with a soft cloth or brush and some low pressure compressed air if you have any.
