Win7 SP1

Hi all,

I've yet to install SP1 for Win7, I'm a bit reluctant. Don't know if it was a one off or something he did that was stupid and isn't telling me but when my brother installed it, quite some time ago, it caused all kinds of problems that took an age to fix!

Is everyone else up to date with the service packs, anyone had any problems? Shall I just install it?

Installed on 4 machines, no issues with the SP.

Installed it on my new pc when it was released, no problems at all.

Personally,I had no problem installing SP1.
I disabled my antivirus before doing so.

I have installed SP1 on 3 systems myself and had no problems, even left the AV running on all systems.

As I thought really. He must have done something and cocked it up.

Speaking of which, I had a panic moment as I was trying to do an update and cancelled it. Thought it had crashed so reset, it stopped my PC from booting! :S Fortunately managed to get into Windows recovery and restore and it all works now. phew!

I wrote the software that oversees the installs and configures windows. They mash order numbers in, by extension, i install windows.

Edit:

Oh and prepare / supply all the base images etc.

I did mean it literally.

I'm sure so many people have said it that by now your mind is already made up but the first thing I did when this thing was delivered was do a full windows update and it didn't have any negative effects on my machine.
