My first post so please be gentle ! I decided to treat myself and buy a laptop, it will be used for general web stuff, facebook, other few pages at once and if i could run the occasional game as well. i picked the 17.3" as i like the wide screen. If anyone has any views on the once i have bought please say. I am not an expert just would like to know what others views on my choice.

I think this is not your best option for just shy of £1000.

The GTX 1050 is an entry level gaming graphics card, and not as good value as a GTX 1050 ti - though your chassis options (i.e. alternative models offering a 1050 ti) are more limited for 17.3" chassis than they are for 15.6".
Your gaming interests seem very casual so a 1050 might be alright, but it's always worth bearing in mind that you cannot upgrade a laptop's GPU in the future. So the weaker it is, the sooner you'll find yourself unable to play X future title at all / at satisfactory settings. And the sooner you'll have to stop gaming or buy a new system.

You may decide to stick to the Cosmos and a GTX 1050 because the other chassis aren't options you can live with. But as long as you know what the trade-offs with it are...

16gb RAM is expensive and not really needed for casual web use or gaming.

I would instead suggest buying 1x8gb so you have room to add another stick of RAM in the future.

This saves money to spend on an M.2 SSD such as the Samsung 970 Evo. This will make loading Windows, programs, games, and generally using the PC a lot faster.

The i7 CPU is not necessary for your uses. If the i5 is cheaper and an option for the chassis, stick to that.
